Youth Zone in Warrington – consultation begins

November 1, 2014 | Nick Taylor

Warrington Borough Council Executive board agrees in principle to consider and consult on the development of a Youth Zone.

The proposed development would see Warrington Borough Council work in partnership with Warrington Youth Club and Onside to develop a Youth Zone in the former Mr Smith’s building.

The Executive Board recommended that the Council work with Warrington Youth Club and Onside on a wide reaching consultation regarding the proposed development. The consultation will seek to gain the views of both young people and key stakeholders.

The young people’s consultation will take place via a questionnaire based on paper and online and via workshops which will explore the concept in more detail. The consultation with young people will run from Monday 27th October until Thursday 20th November 2014.

Consultation with stakeholders (by invitation only) will take place in the form of a Consultation Workshop Event which will be held on:

Monday 17th November 2014 at 10.00 am at the Town Hall.

The Warrington Youth Club are a key partner in the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Peace Centre and the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace and the NSPCC (co-owners of the Centre) are stakeholders.  Our position can be read here and we will be attending the consultation.

It is absolutely vital that the young people of the town have their views heard and so we are encouraging every young person to complete the online survey  at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WYZone

Please pass this link on and encourage young people to complete the survey
