Wendy Parry awarded the OBE

Our co-founder, Wendy Parry, has been awarded the OBE.

The mother of Tim who, together with three-year-old Johnathan Ball, was killed in an IRA bomb blast in Warrington – has been appointed OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.
Wendy is the co-Founder of the Foundation For Peace – now a national and international charity – established in the boys memory supported by her husband Colin. He received an OBE in 2004.
Wendy was the inspiration behind the creation of the international Peace Centre in Warrington, opened in 2000 to help support people affected by political violence and terrorism and promote programmes in the prevention and resolution of violent conflict.
Wendy said she is: “very proud and honoured to be included on the list.
“Everything we have done in the past has been to keep Tim and Johnathan’s names alive. This could be another thing that will help do that.”
Colin Parry said the honour was :”very, very well deserved” and he was delighted for her.”

Colin is Chairman of the Foundation and Wendy is a trustee and also works a number of days a week promoting fund raising events and leading activities with corporate supporters.
