Volunteer Christmas lunch

Volunteers gather to celebrate a year for peace

December 16, 2014 | Nick Taylor

The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace joined forces with their centre partner the Warrington Youth Club to host a Christmas lunch for all their volunteers (see picture).

They were joined by members of each charity and the Peace Centre house keeping team.  Lunch was a huge buffet prepared by team members (see picture below) who each contributed a number of items and volunteers were presented with Christmas cards and gifts to say thank you for all their hard work.

Nick Taylor, Chief Executive of the Foundation for Peace addressed the volunteers and said: “All charities are always looking for funding so they can survive but one of the most precious gifts people can give is their time and that the old adage ‘time is money’ was very true.

“2015 is to be a very big year for the charities as Warrington Youth Club look to take forward the project to create a major Youth Zone in the town and that for the Foundation our work is more and more vital, even judging by today’s horrific headlines from Pakistan, Syria and Australia.”

He thanked everyone for all their contributions and in wishing the volunteers a merry Christmas and happy New Year, he also asked that they spread the word to bring on board friends, colleagues and family.

The event was attended by charity and Centre Founders, Colin and Wendy Parry.  Colin thanked everyone on behalf of the family for making the Centre the success it is.
