Run for peace in the English Half Marathon & 10K Road Race Challenge
August 18, 2014 | Jonathan Levy
The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace is encouraging people to support its vital work by taking part in the English Half Marathon and 10K Road Race Challenge.
Both events will be held at 9am on Sunday 21 September starting from Victoria Park. The 13.1 mile Half Marathon event heads towards South Warrington before ending back at the new athletics track at Victoria Park.
The English Half Marathon 10K Road Race Challenge takes a similar, but shorter route and also finishes at Victoria Park.
All runners will receive running bibs, finishing T-shirts, medals and a goody bag on the day. Runners and spectators will have access to the event village, filled with music, food, health and wellbeing exhibits and much more! The Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace will also be marking International Day of Peace at this event and will have a stand offering water and cakes to all our runners.
The Foundation’s Jonathan Levy said: “This is a really good opportunity to have fun and raise money for charity at the same time. By taking part in aid of the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace, runners will be supporting the Peace Centre and the help and services we provide to many people including victims of terrorism, armed services veterans and vulnerable young people.
“We are the only UK charity which provides such a unique range of services for those affected by violent conflict, based here in Warrington. It is the support and generosity of our supporters that keeps us going and money raised from the English Half Marathon and 10K Road Race Challenge can help us make a significant difference to the positive impact we have on people’s lives.”
To register for a place in either event, please complete the registration form here. For more information please contact Jonathan Levy on 01925 581232 or email him at email@example.com
*As the Foundation’s charity places are free of charge to our runners, we ask each runner to raise a minimum sponsorship – £150 for the English Half Marathon and £100 for the 10K Road Race Challenge. The Foundation is registered with Virgin Money Giving to enable your supporters to sponsor you online. Runners will be required to pay a deposit of £20.00 for the English Half Marathon and £14.50 for the 10K Road Race Challenge which will be refunded if the minimum sponsorship has been acquired. Please send a cheque payable to the Tim Parry Johnathan Ball Foundation for Peace.
