Children from St. Barnabas C of E Primary School in Warrington held their own Peace of Cake event this summer term and raised a brilliant £330.95 for the Foundation!
On week beginning the 20th May, Emma Perkins (Key Stage 2 Manager), spent each day planning the event with her class. They were split into a marketing, advertising and finance teams and they researched how to present it in school, made all the posters and fliers, decided what activities to do, where to place them in the hall and how much to charge for items. When the school returned from holiday on the 10th June they spent 4 days doing an assembly – which the children delivered themselves, made key rings, book marks, recipe books, baked and decorated cakes and created signs for the stalls!
At the event they had lots of stalls, including a ‘Peace of Cake’ cafe, drinks and refreshments a chocolate fountain & a raffle! The event was an amazing success and the children raised £330.95 in total, Emma Perkins said “I am so proud of the children and immensely grateful to the parents for their generosity”. Peace Bear even came to see what all the fun was about and said hello to all the children! He said the cakes were very yummy!
The Foundation would like to say thank you to all the children, parents and teachers that helped to put on this event at the school and make it such a success- you are now officially peace bakers!
