The gift that goes on giving after you’re gone
Legacy gifts change lives.
In recent years, the number of terrorist incidents worldwide has nearly tripled and deaths as a result of terrorism have doubled. The Foundation is here to help individuals to develop the skills they need to become peacebuilders, while also helping to lay the foundations for healthy communities. Healing divisions through dialogue, challenges people to see themselves as transformational leaders, who can, and will, make a real difference.
Having an up-to-date Will is probably one of the most important things you can do to ensure your wishes will be carried out exactly as you wanted. It is also the only way to protect your loved ones when you’re gone.
You can make a real difference by leaving a legacy to us, and helping to change the future that keeps us waging for one thing only, peace. Our work has a huge impact on the lives of many people and a gift in your Will can help guarantee that we can increase our impact in the years ahead.
Anyone can support our work in this way and every single pound has the power to make a difference. One day your legacy could help us ensure that no one affected by conflict will be left without the practical and emotional help they need. This is your chance to be part of something truly amazing. It may not be something you’ve ever considered before, but it might just be more important than you could ever imagine, so please consider supporting our work in this very special way.
We change lives
“I could not do without them.” Mike’s story
“I have grown in knowledge and understanding of terrorism, how perceptions are formed, and most significantly, the groups that we belong to or maybe don’t belong to.” Madeeha’s story
We are trusted and efficient
Your legacy will contribute to our unique For Peace services. Our annual report gives details of what we have achieved and our plans for the future. We are open and transparent. We are grateful for every penny we receive and we don’t waste money. For every pound we raise, we spend 6p raising the next pound, 7p on support and governance, and the other 87p goes directly to our services for victims of terrorism, conflict and political violence.
More people than ever before need us
Peace is increasingly fragile in society today. There are constant reminders that the world we live in is affected by violent conflict and with terrorism on the increase, demand for the Foundation’s unique ‘For Peace’ services is increasing. Our work has three components: prevention, resolution and response.
In prevention we seek to stop violence before it starts, however when conflict does arise, we seek resolution through dialogue and actions to deal with issues without recourse to violence. When violent conflict has already occurred, we are there to respond, to help those affected to cope and recover and, in many cases, to become active peacebuilders and agents for change themselves.
Be part of a brighter future
We have been supporting people affected by conflict for more than 20 years. Thanks to the continued involvement of people like you, there have been many milestones and triumphs in our history, but our work is far from over. We are ambitious for the future and believe that every person is a potential peacebuilder. Our vision is a world where individuals and communities can prevent, resolve and respond to conflict in ways that work for them. By leaving a gift in your will to the Foundation for Peace, you will help to break the cycle of violence so those we support can learn from one another and play their role in achieving a more peaceful future.
Things to consider when preparing to write your Will
Decide who you want to include. Gifts can be anything you own and can take the form of specific items, cash amounts or a percentage of your estate.
Are there any charitable causes you are passionate about? Leaving a legacy to your favourite charities is a great way to continue your support and will be exempt from Inheritance Tax.
Choose who you want to be executors and guardians for your children, if appropriate.
Take essential information with you. Take a list of the full names and addresses of everyone you want to benefit from your Will. If you are considering leaving a legacy to the Foundation for Peace, thank you so much. All you have to do is give your solicitor our registered address and charity number:
