Farewell and good luck to Lynn Hitchen

February 20, 2014 | Nick Taylor

Lynn Hitchen (pictured right), our Operations Manager is to leave the charity to take up a new role as Head of Charity Operations at the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Lynn, as Foundation Operations Manager, has been with the charity since 2000, the year the international Peace Centre opened in Warrington, and has established all of the operations spending over 13 years with the charity.  As a professional accountant, Lynn has managed all financial processing and management accounting, but more than this has also provided secretariat to the board, undertaken all Human Resource Management and a wide range of operations management.

Nick Taylor, Chief Executive, paid tribute to Lynn: “any charitable Foundation bases its success on the way it is structured and managed and Lynn has been one of our main ‘foundation stones’ and without her we could not have achieved so much.

“Lynn will be missed but I am delighted that she is to take up a senior role in a major charity and on behalf of all her colleagues, our Trustees and the many people we work with, we wish her the best of luck for the future.”

Lynn leaves the Foundation on 22nd February and will take up a new position to lead and manage the day to day charity operations at Alder Hey in support of the world famous NHS Foundation Trust in Liverpool.  Alder Hey Children’s Charity supports Alder Hey Children’s Hospital which sees over 270,000 young patients and their families every year.  They are aiming to raise £30m to upgrade the specifications of a new Alder Hey in the Park before it opens in 2015.  They are aiming to fund life-saving medical equipment, research and family facilities as well as arts and play programmes.
