Many victims, survivors and veterans want to learn about the reasons behind why they became affected and go on to learn about the conflicts, situations and groups that gave rise to their circumstance. Engaging people in learning about conflict is a useful start to addressing the cycle of violence, whereby those affected by conflict often get involved in continuing the violence. By providing educational programmes about conflict, the Foundation aims to encourage those directly involved and affected by violence to pass on their learning to others. The Foundation has extensive experience of delivering educational programmes on conflict resolution, and these have now been developed and extended to victims, survivors and former combatants so they can undertake courses exploring the underlying causes of conflict and the impact on people. The courses are run on a day long or weekend residential basis, exploring current contexts such as the ‘War on Terror’ or specific conflicts. Participants who have completed these courses can also participate on the Leadership Development programme.
Programmes are held throughout the year. If you are interested in attending one of these events, further information is available from the Foundation office on 01925 581 231 or info@foundation4peace.org. |
