Bullying is a disease in society where one person or organisation tries to impose their will on another. This is a daily occurrence in many lives and the results are often devastating for those affected.

In response to demand from teachers, social workers and students the Foundation developed this anti-bullying programme aimed at children in Year 6 (10-11 years of age).

Children this age in Great Britain are in their last year of primary school. The aim of the programme is to ease their transition into secondary school and provide them with the skills and knowledge to avoid being pressured into becoming bullies or being bullied.

Each year the Foundation provides this programme to over 900 children over a two week period. They watch a play performed by a professional theatre company and then participate in workshops examining the causes of bullying. Children discuss the response to bullying and what to do if you are the target of bullies.

How to get help online What a bully looks like What a bully looks like

“[The play] really made them think about the forms of bullying, but the ending made them realise that things can get better and be resolved if they actively seek help. A good message for the ending.”
Jane Coates - Oakwood Avenue Primary School

“Each [workshop] was stimulating and thought provoking and allowed all children to access the points in their own way.”
Chris Beesley - St Margaret’s Primary School

The programme runs in June each year. For further information on the programme and its availability please call the Foundation offices on 01925 581 231.
